Using the K400 K-File Reciprocation hand piece

Preparation:

• Ensure that the EMK400 handpiece is properly attached to a compatible endomotor
• Confirm that the handpiece is set within the recommended speed range of 400 to 800 RPM.
• Have the appropriate Manual K- file ready for use.

Inserting the Hand File:

• Gently insert the selected hand file into the specialized cartridge of the EMK400 handpiece. The cartridge design allows for easy attachment.

Positioning:

• Position the handpiece at the access point of the tooth requiring endodontic treatment. Maintain proper lighting and visibility for accurate placement.

Engaging the Oscillation:

• Activate the handpiece using the power button on the endomotor. The handpiece will initiate the oscillation of 30 degrees forward and 30 degrees backward, mimicking the watch-winding motion.

Applying Controlled Pressure:

• Hold the handpiece with a comfortable grip, allowing the oscillation to guide the hand file gently into the root canal. It's important to exert controlled pressure while maintaining a consistent movement.

Reciprocating Motion:

• Allow the K400 Handpiece to guide the hand file through the root canal using its reciprocating motion. Avoid excessive force that may lead to file breakage. 

Progressive Movement:

• Gradually advance the hand file deeper into the root canal, taking advantage of the synchronized oscillation for efficient filing. Continue until the desired working length is achieved.

Monitoring and Adjusting:

• Continuously monitor the hand file's progress within the canal. If you encounter resistance, gently withdraw the hand file slightly before re-engaging the reciprocation motion.

Completion:

• Once the desired filing depth is reached and the root canal is adequately prepared, deactivate the handpiece.

File Removal:

• Carefully detach the hand file from the specialized cartridge, ensuring proper disposal or sterilization procedures as required by infection control protocols and Oil the handpiece after use.
